2nd Meeting

We held our second meeting on Wednsday. We set up two bulletin boards. The one in the hallway is to let students at BCD know what our group is currently doing. The one in the pm room is one of two we attempted to post but the second one didn't work out. This bulliten board has info on our current special focus case. We started our letter writing campaign which is the main focus of our group. If you wrote a letter please remeber to mail it with a 84 cent stamp because it is going to Ethiopia. Some of you may have recieved a holiday post card to send to Mesfin Woldermariam. Here is a link to a page where you can print out holiday cards to many prisoners of consience from across the globe. Please note that Amnesty is not a political organization and it is strictly for the purposes of protected people's human right's. We are not Democrats of Republicans, we are just trying to make the world a better place.

If you are thinking about coming to our next meeting [Which is on Wednesday] but you can't decide, consider this, you dont miss recess, you get to do somthing great for the world, and you get to hang out with Mrs.Cole[Dylans mom, the coolest teacher ever!

I apologize about advisee lunches. We'll have a meeting next week. Remember, if you were sitting at the table to the right, find things about human rights in general for the bulletin board. If you were sitting in the middle table or you are a seventh or eigth grader, find things about Amnesty International. If you were sitting at the left table, find things about our man Mesfin Woldermariam.

Exellent first meeting every one! We talked about what we think human rights are and we brain stormed ideas on how what we can do in our group to help people. Our current special focus case is Mesfin Woldemariam who is imprisioned in Ethiopia. For info on this prisoner click here.
